Stanford University partners with TurboVote (run by the organization Democracy Works) to provide our community with a voter registration tool. Follow the prompts on the TurboVote website and you'll be registered to vote in no time at all. You can also use TurboVote to update your registration address or request an absentee ballot.

StanfordVotes is a nonpartisan organization, so we do not give recommendations about whether Stanford students should register to vote using their home address or their Stanford address, because of potential political implications of that decision.

Since registration deadlines vary by state, make sure you learn the dates for your state.

Want to check if you're already registered to vote?

Not sure if you're registered to vote? Want to make sure that you didn't get purged from your state's voter rolls? This tool from takes 30 seconds and will quickly check your registration status for you, including reminding of you of the address at which you're currently registered. None of the data or information you enter will be collected by Stanford or StanfordVotes.
